Here I talk with Don Johnson and his broadcast partner Brandon Ridley about my difficulties with the structure of Don’s argument so far. While we didn’t settle everything in my mind, this was very productive for me, and I feel like this led to some substantial progress on my understanding of the overall disagreement. OMG! in this episode Johnson just tries to browbeat the moderator. This is turning horrible. Johnson has nothing left.
The reason we don’t accept some things is because they aren’t a good explanation (see Carruther’s list for maknig a good explanation of something).
plus, Johnson appeals to evidence and then declares the Jesus myth has evidence. The Jesus story has much less “evidence” then aliens. The problem is that we have a moderator and (two) apologists who don’t believe in aliens and so they both feel it is rare or odd.
About 45% of the US believes in aliens - they are wrong, but they have their evidence that Johnson wishes to pass off without a nod while accepting a Bronze Age story of a zombie.
I am seeing the only leg the religionist has: browbeat people into accepting their presupposition.
